Liz Cheney Thinks Donald Trump Is Not The Republican Party What Do You Think?

Resolution 37, 44, 57 and 58 at the White House in Washington, DC. – Senior Republican Liz Cheney announced on January 12, 2021 that she will vote to impeach President Donald Trump. “I think right now, the Republican Party is headed by [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy in the House. I think our elected leaders, you know, are the ones who are in charge of the Republican Party and I think as we look at ’22 and ’24, we’re very much going to be focused on substance and on the issues and I think that’s where we got to attract back the voters that we lost in 2020. By conveying to them that in fact you know we are the party they can trust, we are the party of confidence and conservative principles.”

These are the words of Liz Cheney who is the Republican conference chairwoman and the number 3 member of the House GOP leadership but who is hardly the voice of the modern-day Republican party. Instead, she is quite the opposite. Cheney was among only 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the mostly peaceful January 6 protest at the Capitol, which came with one homicide at the hands of a government official that was neither revealed nor was punished for his action.

Cheney even went as far as to tell reporters she hadn’t invited the former president to the party’s issues conference, held outside of Orlando this year. What she and these “establishment” leaders fail to understand is the party is the PARTY OF TRUMP. For this misunderstanding individuals who think they speak for the Republican movement have put targets on their backs.

Although, controversial and only one of the voices of the modern-day Republican party (that even I disagree with at times) but yet a bit more in touch with it is freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who tweeted “Remember when Republicans lost the House in 2018 because a bunch of them distanced themselves from President Trump?” “Not inviting President Trump to the GOP retreat is the same stupid behavior. Funny how they don’t understand a record # of votes and support of any R President.”

Anyone following politics will understand why there is this rift between Chaney and Trump, after she voted for his impeachment, Trump’s allies in the House attempted to remove Cheney from her post as conference chair.  Trump has since vowed to support ANY primary opponent against her in 2022.

Now amplify the words above with the answers to questions by CNN reporters of Chaney. Recently they asked Channey about the 400 protesters at the US Capitol who have been or will be charged with crimes, “There are ongoing criminal investigations, and those will play out.” she did not say whether she thought Trump should be among them. Her answer instead was “That’s a decision that the Justice Department is going to have to make.” Yet, after her vote of impeachment against Trump she had defended her vote by saying that Trump “Summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing.”

Personally, I would like to address this statement made by Channey, I was there on Jan 6th, I also was NOT one of the protesters who crossed barriers nor went into the Capital building. I was only one of the hundreds of thousands of peaceful observers and protesters who were there to witness the historic day and who committed NO crimes.

The news (the left and some right) however, have misrepresented what happened that day. From my observation, the Capital police DID NOT follow their normal procedures when Congress is in session. There were no armed guards surrounding the Capital, there were no barricades or protection to keep a massive protest out. In addition, if one did their proper research Trump had already signed the necessary papers giving the Capital Police any power necessary to stop such a protest from becoming an “insurrection” or “riot” days before Jan 6.

On top of this, the rally Trump put together at the last minute was put in place to misdirect many of the protesters from going to the Capital, by having people stand outside in the cold since 7 am or earlier to wait until Trump spoke around 1-2 pm clearly was a way to not escalate the situation but to distract.

One could also point out the many times the left (BLM and Antifa) had “peacefully protested” in DC during the election leaving a wake of death and destruction, and even at one time left the city on fire. Where was the outrage of “insurrection” when these same protestors invaded homes, businesses, and even government offices?

Instead, there were crickets from the FBI, the Left, and Government officials, as well there were no substantial arrests. A double standard that is completely forgotten or not taken as seriously by the “establishment” GOP like Channey who think that they are “the voice and leaders of the GOP.” Channey has only said this about it, “I am very concerned, as all my colleagues are, about the violence that we saw, the BLM, the Antifa violence last summer. I think that’s a different set of issues, a different set of problems, and a different set of solutions.” Yet, where are the calls for investigation in this even now a year later?

Meanwhile, Cheney has said it was “really important” for Congress to have a bipartisan commission to investigate and provide an accounting of the January 6 riot, similar to what happened after the Pearl Harbor attack, the John F. Kennedy assassination, and the 9/11 terrorist attack. Clearly, this is NOT how the modern Republican party feels, in fact as a part of that voter base I would prefer that the Government spends it’s time investigating the 2020 election and the potential of voter fraud which is the reason that Jan 6 even happened.

“If we minimize what happened on Jan. 6th and if we appease it, then we will be in a situation where every election cycle, you could potentially have another constitutional crisis,” Cheney said later in an interview with POLITICO. “If you get into a situation where we don’t guarantee a peaceful transfer of power, we won’t have learned the lessons of Jan. 6.”

“And you can’t bury our head in the sand,” she added. “It matters hugely to the survival of the country.”

Sadly, Rep. Liz Cheney is not ruling out a 2024 presidential run. I for one as a Gay Republican who has fought hard to grow diversification in the Republican party and who may even run for US Congress in the upcoming 2022 election, would prefer this not to happen.  I for one REFUSE to get back into the Political Closet.

Inclusion is what the MAGA movement has been about, and the Party of Trump has understood from day one that Trump was NEVER the establishment and would be the refreshing change that the party needed. A Populus President though is dangerous to the system that does not like change. The party seems to want to operate as a rubber band and snap back to the same old ways, it did after the Tea Party movement and now they want to do it again by forcing Trump out of the party.

My Advice, continue to Go Right for America and get involved in the GOP, do not run from it. Now is the time that we show the so-called “establishment” that we REFUSE to shut up, go backward, and give up ground. For we are the rebellion and we are the Patriots that resist returning to the same old way. As for most of the 74,222,958 voters for Trump in 2020, we refuse to go back. America cannot afford it, the left has taken advantage of this weakness of the right, and MAGA and the Party of TRUMP must not surrender!
