Is the RUSSIA PROBE BACKFIRING ON MUELLER?
According to General Flynn he says that the FBI pushed him not to a have a lawyer present during his “interview.” Of course this questioning led to his guilty plea and one charge of lying to federal authorities during this Anti-Trump witch hunt.
Attorneys for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn have alleged that Andrew McCabe pushed Flynn to NOT have an attorney present. During these court filings it was shown that alleged wrongdoing was committed by the investigators that were involved in the special counsel’s Russia probe. In these documents it goes over the sequence of events that led to the end of Flynn’s involvement in the Trump administration.
What further increases Trump’s claims of
WITCH HUNT!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 13, 2018
a “Witch Hunt” is very much true considering the aggressive tactics of the FBI in handing the Flynn interview in contrast to how they deal with other similar matters. For example their “sit-downs” with Hillary Clinton were pretty much like a lunch a McDonald’s in comparison.
One does not have to look that far to see the double standard. Flynn is only one among many of Trump’s former associates that have been charged with making “false” statements as part of this 2 year and never-ending “Russian Collusion Investigation”. Meanwhile NO ONE that was interviewed during the FBI’s Clinton email investigation was given “false” statement charges, although it’s widely known that investigators believed MANY of the witnesses called in for that investigation were NOT TELLING THE TRUTH!
What’s very upsetting is that Flynn NEVER was instructed about the seriousness of his statements, and that a perceived false statement could be used to convict him and be considered a “crime.” Especially if he didn’t remember EVERYTHING by memory about his wiretapped communications with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
FBI agents wrote in a so-called “302” witness interview report as cited by the filing.
If “Flynn said he did not remember something they knew he said, they would use the exact words Flynn used, . . . to try to refresh his recollection,” “If Flynn still would not confirm what he said, . . . they would not confront him or talk him through it.”
Now if you are like me, who really can remember a conversation you had with someone in the past word for word?
U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan has ordered Mueller to turn over all the government’s documents and “memoranda” that is related to Flynn’s questioning. As Reported by FoxNews
Also Kimberley Strassel of The Wall Street Journal’s writes,
“Robert Mueller has operated for 19 months as a law unto himself, reminding us of the awesome and destructive powers of special counsels. About the only possible check on Mr. Mueller is a judge who is wise to the tricks of prosecutors and investigators. Good news: That’s what we got this week.”
The Only Justification that the FBI agents gave in the 302 to explain why Flynn was not warned of the consequences of making false statements was they wanted “Flynn to be relaxed” and that they were afraid that if they warned Flynn of his rights it would affect their rapport.
I for one think this is baiting, it shows they intentionally went into this interview not to investigate but with the mission to find a reason (like a crooked cop breaking someone’s headlight) in order to lead Flynn into a trap so they could find an excuse to charge him, so they could attempt to bribe him so they could get to Trump.
By a extreme contrast the FBI’s approach to interviewing George Papadopoulos was very much the opposite of the Flynn interview.
Former Trump aide George Papadopoulos also plead guilty to a “false statement” charge, but in that case Special Counsel Mueller’s team took extra care to note that FBI agents who interviewed Papadopoulos just days after Flynn’s interview made it a point to inform Papadopoulos that “lying to them is a Federal offense” and that he would “get in trouble” if the truth was not told.
Ultimately the approach that the FBI has taken in this Russian Probe are VERY MUCH different than the “investigation” that was conducted with Hillary Clinton in 2016 during her presidential campaign. Of course Hillary “lawyered up” during her probe with as many as nine lawyers during her interview. Which even then FBI Director James Comey stated that this was “unusual” according to his testimony.
We all know that this Russian Probe is nothing but a witch hunt, and everything points to the corruption and bias against Trump and the leniency given to the Clinton’s of which most everyone knows they have been involved in wrongdoings for decades.
Another huge example was laid out by the IG report of the political bias that has already played out. Text messages exchanged by FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, Special Counsel to the Deputy Director, did everything to indicate the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations. So, the question remains, Is the Russia Probe Backfiring on Mueller?
Personally we all have our opinions, but in my opinion, the Russian Probe is finding NO Collusion… although it is finding some wrong doing by shady people like Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen who was a bad egg anyway. But, Ultimately as these 2 years have dragged on we have seen nothing but a waste of time and money, and not only have they tainted the TRUE criminal case which is the Clinton Probe, but they have also proven that this “Russian Probe” is nothing but a continuous way to try undermine the Trump Administration, and used solely as revenge against the unexpected win by Trump as used by the left.
So YES, when the smoke is cleared this whole Russian Probe will find a BIG Nothing Burger, and lots of consequences for Mueller… for example Dr Jerome Corsi is suing Mueller and seeking $350 Million in damages.
As for the rest of us… let’s just keep eating the popcorn and watch Muller’s house of cards fall flat on itself.
