Triangle Urban Republican Network to host LGBT forum at NCGOP HQ


Raleigh, N.C. – . – On Tuesday, May 22nd the Triangle Urban Republican Network (TURN) will be hosting a
forum to discuss lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues at the North Carolina
Republican Party headquarters. TURN has a variety of speakers flying in from out-of-state as well as
from out of town to discuss where the LGBT community & the Republican Party overlap, interact and

Marco Antonio Roberts is the President of the Houston Log Cabin Republicans and the
secretary of the Board of Log Cabin Republican of Texas. He will be sharing his views on how
anti-discrimination laws, the first amendment, and property rights have been pitted against
one another by the Left and thus created unjust discrimination.

Patrick Bowersox is the secretary of the Wake County Libertarian Party and Chair of Outright
North Carolina, the official GSM Outreach arm of the Libertarian Party of North Carolina. He
will be sharing why he believes the Libertarian Party is the best route for those with the LGBT

Peter Boykin is a North Carolina House Candidate and will be sharing his opinion on
censorship of conservatives within the social media sphere as well as his thoughts on identity

Justin Banks is an openly gay Republican living in Craven County and is a strong advocate for
the LGBT community. He also hopes for the formation of a Log Cabin Republican chapter in
North Carolina stating, “I would rather be gay in a room full of Republicans, than a
Republican in a room full of gays.”

Matthew Thomas Oberly is currently the National Press Secretary for the Young Republican
National Federation Matthew is the former Vice President of the Miami Log Cabin
Republicans. He also serves as a Florida Advisory Committee Member for the United States
Commission on Civil Rights.

Thomas Turner is a life-long resident of Virginia and is currently State First Vice Chairman of
the Young Republican Federation of Virginia (YRFV) and is the Director of Millennial Outreach
of Modern Republicans (MOD-PAC) a federal PAC founded in Virginia.

Hussein Hill is a self-proclaimed ex-Muslim, spiritual pagan, cultural Christian, and gay
conservative man. He currently runs a YouTube-based journalistic outlet by the name of
“Infidel Rebel”, as well as a Facebook page dedicated to the same outlet. His purpose with
these various journalistic outlets, various political outreach efforts, and overall sociopolitical message, is to “display to the public the ridiculousness of modern, American, leftist
identitarianism as well as the existential need for cultural libertarianism and a base of

Triangle Urban Republican Network or TURN is a group of thinking Republicans, moderates,
Libertarian-leaners, independents, and anyone else who wants reasonable discussion of Republican
politics. The group is run by Matthew Hebb and several other activists in the Triangle and functions as
a discussion group for topics that aren’t as often talked about in traditional party circles. The group is
not an official affiliate of the Republican Party and is open to anyone interested in its mission.

They have had an outpouring of support since it’s conception from all levels of the Republican Party
including Vice Chairman of the NCGOP Michelle Nix who said, “I support all Republicans who
advocate for smaller government, less taxes, and individual liberty regardless of race, religion, or
sexual preference”.
